How to check your managerial skills during the holidays?

Some managers believe that they have to be constantly in touch with the company when they gone on holiday. For them no access to internet means huge stress. I see two problems based on my own experience:

Internal problem: Lack of contact with my team makes me fear- I’m losing control? Maybe even I’m losing my position in company?

External problem: My staff is still in contact with me. They write text messages, send emails and a call to me.

Both situation mean that you’re badly organized – you are a workaholic or you not prepared your team to work during your absence.

Vacation is not a test to check if you are irreplaceable or not. This period can proves that you properly delegate tasks. It is important that your employees exactly know in what situations must interrupt your vacation and ask you for a decision. Of course there are emergency situations, requiring key decisions.

Well spent vacation depends on your good management.

I wrote this post during my winter holiday.

How to effectively develop the market for the sale in B2B relations?

Here are some of my principles that I use and that work:

Forget that email is the seller.
Electronics tools are not the sales manager. Sells man who uses these tools properly. Take care of direct communication with customers.

Enjoy the various sales channels
Each market, each industry has its own peculiarities. Each customer differently builds its relationships with contractors. Choose the people and tools tailored to the style of relationship-building by the customer.

Develop your employees and team
Continuous improvement of skills of sales staff. Analyze the cause of the failure and show success. Recruit new people. Search for new agents.

Analyzing the market
Find out what’s happening in the market every day, get feedback from suppliers, customers, transportation companies, regularly examine an opinion about you and your business. Be ready for a change.

Always be open to talks
Even if you lose a few times be nice and open to every meeting with a client. You build the confidence when you are showing how to accept failure. Be patient.

Reward yourself and your employees
For a successful stage and final.

  • Doda motywacji do poszukiwania nowych rozwiązań,

(Savoir vivre in business – is it important?)

Dzisiaj tyko kilka prowokujących pytań. Zadaję je w kontekście codziennych problemów w relacjach biznesowych ze współpracownikami, partnerami handlowymi, przełożonymi.

Czy znasz odpowiedzi na te pytania?:

  1. Jaka jest kolejność przedstawiania uczestników oficjalnych delegacji dwóch firm?
  2. Kto kogo pierwszy powita podczas spotkania na korytarzu w twojej firmie?
  3. Jakie miejsca zajmiesz ty i twój zespół podczas konferencji ze swoim przełożonym?
  4. Kto pierwszy poda wizytówkę podczas spotkania biznesowego i w jaki sposób to zrobi?
  5. Gdzie siądzie twój szef w samochodzie, podczas służbowej podróży?

Warto poznać odpowiedzi na te pytania. Unikniesz nietaktu. Oczywiście, jeżeli ktoś będzie umiał go zidentyfikować.

Responsibility and loyalty. What if your boss makes mistakes?

page2_img2Errors made by boss is a topic usualy ignored in the discussion of management. What can a worker do when he sees that his boss makes a mistake? What if he makes the mistake again?

Variants and consequences:

Do not react.
Better to keep quiet, because it’s not my fault. But is it ok for company, me and my team?

I go to the boss and inform him about the error.
Maybe the boss will say “you are right, thank you!”. Or maybe not, and I will be now unwanted employee?

I’m going level up and report to boss of my boss.
But maybe I made a mistake, because I’m skipping official way. I’ll be squealer.

I do not execute decisions. I change his decision.
But maybe I make a mistake. It will be my fault and responsibility.

I’m quit.
I give up because I can not stand the stress. But is it a good solution for me – not easy to find a new job.

How to be loyal to each other, the boss and the company?

It is a huge task for managers – to be open to feedback. Workers should have the opportunity to present their opinion – come to the boss and discuss the issue.

John listens to his people, so be such a good boss John.

Lack of motivation? No – sometimes employees are afraid!

page2_img2   In your managing life you can find a lot of talk about motivation as a guarantee of success. For me, a good system of motivation is good for the competent people. Competence is the knowledge and skills. But with the new challenges there is a new problem – the fear. Fears of a new, unknown effects.

My experience… Sometimes people are afraid to go in a new unknown terrain. They do not want to do it themselves. Therefore they expect that the boss will help them overcome the fear.

If you have done a good motivation system, if you have employees with high skills, if you have specified clear goals and plans, and workers still do not enter into new areas, it may be they are afraid? Or they do not like you.

  1. Informatyczny.
  2. Psychologiczny.

Nurt informatyczny określa narzędzia sprzedaży jako wszelkie aplikacje służące do wspierania procesów sprzedaży i obsługi klienta. Generalnie chodzi o aplikacje CRM.

Posiadający dobrze opracowaną bazę potencjalnych klientów i zmotywowany do rozmowy z nimi.
